I knew Chris first when I was a Labour regional organiser in the South West, and met her numerous Cooperative events as well. She carried the Labour and Coop flags at a difficult time in the most challenging areas including a stint as Labour candidate for North Cornwall (one of the hardest seats electorally) in 1987, she brought energy, ideas and enthusiasm and helped keep the Coop movement alive and kicking in the region. She made a great contribution to the Regional Executive, Coop and to the cause of women's equality and representation. I know she continued to contribute then in Somerset and in recent years in her new Norwich home. She will be sorely missed.
